Ghent University Global Campus

Ghent University is the first European university to start a campus on Incheon Global Campus.

Ghent University was invited by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) to be part of the Incheon Global Campus (IGC).

The Korean government asked Ghent University having highly valued its worldwide reputation as a top 100 university and its life science programs which are ranked within the international top 40.

Ghent University Global Campus opened in September 2014 offering three bachelor degree programs in life sciences: Environmental Technology, Food Technology and Molecular Biotechnology.

GUGC wants to challenge itself and potential students to have big ambitions which make a difference in the world.

Everybody knows the vast challenges the world faces: challenges concerning the health of people, for example chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, challenges related to water and food, for example the estimation that the demand for food and water will rise by 50 percent by 2030 as a result of the growing world population, and challenges affecting the environment, for example climate change and pollution.

Are these global challenges too big and too difficult to solve? No! At Ghent University Global Campus we believe that a truly global university should aim high and try to find solutions for even the biggest global challenges.

Ghent University Global Campus wants to educate smart, dynamic and ambitious students about environmental technology, food technology and molecular biotechnology to excite as many as possible smart people to start within these fields and tackle the global challenges.

Accreditation

Ghent University Global Campus has been accredited by both the Ministry of Education (Korea) and by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium).

The Chinese Ministry of Education also included Ghent University Global Campus on its list of authorized foreign educational institutions
