The GSLS results from a common initiative of the Faculties of Biology, Medicine, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Physics as well as Philosophy (Psychology). A prime indicator of the quality of research training in Wuerzburg is the fact that the GSLS was among a group of merely five life science related Graduate Schools in Germany that have secured financial support by the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments continuously since 2006.
