In the project “Terahertz – Acceleration and Generation”, which is part of the DFG funded excellence cluster “Advanced Imaging (AIM)” we use short pulse high-energy laser systems to generate high-energy Terahertz pulses by optical difference frequency generation to build ultrabright relativistic electron guns and accelerators to power ultrafast electron diffractometers and compact X-ray sources for advanced imaging of matter on the atomic scale. The research associate will be responsible for development of novel Terahertz-driven photoguns and accelerators along with the associated diagnostics and take part in the applications of these devices in ultrafast electron diffraction and ultrafast X-ray spectroscopy. Team capabilities are of the essence as the work will be done within a multi-disciplinary team of accelerator and laser scientists and engineers.
A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate.
