3 year Research Assistant Position in biochemistry

At the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, there is an opening for a 3-year temporary position of a

Research Assistant (m-w-d)

part-time (50 %).

Depending on the assignment of tasks and fulfilment of personal requirements, the salary will be up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 3-year term of the position may be optionally extended for an additional year.

Work Tasks:

• Process development for the production of modified proteins and antibody-drug conjugates
• Protein isolation, purification and characterization
• Enzyme kinetics and biocatalysis
• Rational and evolutionary enzyme design
• Organic chemical synthesis
• Research tasks requiring a very high degree of independence and experience
• Involvement in teaching

Requirements:

• completed scientific university studies in biochemistry or biology (master or diploma)
• English language skills (written and spoken)
• Experience in the field of enzyme catalysis and/or protein expression desirable
