Job description

This project aims to develop advanced bio-based adsorbents, membranes, and filtration systems for water treatment applications. The work focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and development of functional polymer-based materials for the removal of PFAS, pharmaceutical residues, metals, and other emerging contaminants.

The position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of materials science and environmental technology in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment.  The position involves laboratory-based and analytical work, including planning, designing, and conducting synthesis and materials development. Key responsibilities also include characterization of material properties, data analysis, and the evaluation of material performance. The role further requires the clear communication of results through both written reports and oral presentations

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree 
  • Competence in polymer chemistry, polymer science, polymer technology or equivalent.
  • Research expertise
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice.
  • The ability to communicate research and development work
  • A problem-solving approach
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, as it is required in daily work
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equalityResearch expertise
  • Collaborative abilities       
  • Independence

Preferred qualifications

  • Practical and theoretical experience in functionalization of polymers and/or polymer adsorbents for water purification is strongly qualifying

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
