You will be a part of the Seashore-Ludlow team. Our research focuses on optimizing treatments for individual cancer patients based on molecular profiling and functional drug testing. Our goal in this project to characterize highly miniaturized liver models for future precision medicine efforts in drug safety.
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Postdoc to work on a collaborative project to develop, characterize and screen highly miniaturized liver models. The focus will be on functional drug testing, phenotypic profiling and image analysis. The applicant will be expected to regularly present and communicate the scientific results achieved both in a written and oral format, develop current protocols for handling primary human liver cells and interact with the larger project team from other academic institutions and industry.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
A successful candidate should be highly ambitious and motivated. At the start of employment, you hold a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field such as pharmaceutical, medical or biological science. Hands-on experience with primary human cell culture and high content microscopy is required and experience in high-throughput drug screening, and image analysis are highly valued. Experience in analyzing large datasets is also highly valued. Expertise in molecular biology techniques is also valued.
Experience and knowledge from projects related to drug safety and precision cancer medicine are merits. Knowledge in the field of drug discovery and development and liver diseases are merits. The candidate should have a documented ability to carry out experimental research projects and independent project management. The applicant is fluent in English and proficiency in written/spoken Swedish is valued. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enjoy working in a collaborative setting and be very self-driven. The individual should also be organized, and responsible, demonstrate excellent research lab practices, and set a high standard for all people in the group. Ability to work in a team-science-oriented way will be highly valued.
