Fully funded (and no tuition) PhD program in genetic, molecular, cellular, circuit based Neuroscience and translational, clinical research in Psychiatry. There is the option for a residency track for medical doctors.
We welcome applications starting on August 15, 2024 for a start in fall 2025. Please apply until October 31 through our application portal on our website.
The International Max Planck Research School for Translational Psychiatry (IMPRS-TP) is offering PhD positions in molecular, cellular, and systemic psychiatric research to outstanding students. During the course of their studies, students are exposed to a wide range of scientific questions and methods covering molecular medicine, neuroscience, and clinical psychiatry. Methods range from molecular genetics over animal models to neuroimaging and computational approaches.
Research in a translational setting
In addition to traditional PhD positions, IMPRS-TP offers a unique integrated PhD/residence program in psychiatry to exceptional medical doctors. Highlighting the translational facet, doctorate students will receive insights into clinical aspects of the disease, and trainee medical doctors gain PhD level research expertise while also developing their clinical skills.
Receive exceptional training for a successful career in research, clinic, and academia! Structured curriculum: Core Courses | Lecture Series | Methods Workshops | Transferable Skills
Topics addressed in the program’s structured curriculum range from molecular and cellular neuroscience, behavioral assessments, electrophysiology, brain imaging to psychological and clinical measures and outcomes, epidemiology, statistics, and bioinformatics.
Work in an environment of scientific excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration
