Help shape the sustainability roadmap of future semiconductor technologies and systems.

What you will do

Imec develops methodologies, datasets and assessment frameworks that help the semiconductor ecosystem understand and reduce its environmental footprint. In this role, you will contribute to the deployment, adoption and evolution of imec.netzero, imec's sustainability assessment platform. Working with researchers, technology experts and industrial partners. You will help translate sustainability methodologies into practical assessment capabilities and provide insights that help shape sustainability strategies across semiconductor technologies and systems. You will help increase the adoption of the tool inside and outside imec by providing training and interacting directly with users.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute enhance the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and other sustainability assessment methodologies for semiconductor technologies and systems. 
  • Support the development and adoption of imec.netzero through user engagement, training, data contribution and methodology implementation  
  • Interface with researchers, content providers and industrial partners to gather requirements, collect feedback and continuously improve sustainability assessments. 
  • Contribute to e-score development, environmental impact analyses and decarbonization studies across imec programs  
  • Support deployment of imec.netzero solutions with ecosystem partners and contribute to methodology transfer activities. 
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to strategic projects, scientific publications, technical reports and partner interactions.

Who you are

  • MSc or PhD in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Electronics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Passionate about advancing sustainability in the semiconductor industry, with knowledge of sustainability assessment methodologies such as LCA, PCF, or environmental footprinting.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, technology development, and electronic systems.
  • Open, flexible, and constructive team player, fluent in English, with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You are comfortable interacting with multidisciplinary teams, as well as academic and industrial partners.
  • Quality- and customer-oriented. Experience or interest in project management and team coordination is a plus.
  • Coding experience is a plus (Python, Next.js).
