The position will be made permanent if the requirements under civil service law are met and the qualification profile is completely fulfilled. Alternatively, the position can also be filled by employees covered by collective labour agreements (TVöD).
The BfR independently prepares expert opinions and statements on issues of food, feed and chemical safety and consumer health protection in Germany on the basis of internationally recognised scientific evaluation criteria. It advises the Federal Government and other institutions and interest groups in these areas. In this way, the BfR makes an important contribution to the protection of human health.
Tasks
Technical and organisational management of the specialist group with currently approx. 20 employees
Team leader for the coordination and technical responsibility of the health assessment of chemicals and risk assessment for the consumer. Responsible also for the implementation of the legal tasks according to the REACH and CLP regulations
Strategic work planning, including the identification and prioritisation of chemicals in need of regulation, in cooperation with other federal agencies
Representation of toxicological assessments and risk assessments in the committees of the European Chemicals Agency ECHA and in expert committees of the EU/ECHA
Support for the scientific committees of the European Chemicals Agency ECHA
Preparation of scientific reports on the health evaluation and risk assessment of substances in the context of various procedures under REACH and CLP (in particular proposals for the restriction of substances and for harmonised classification and labelling)
Responsibility for the development and implementation of concepts towards future-oriented regulation of chemicals based on non-animal and alternative methods (replacement of animal testing in the assessment of toxicological effects of chemicals, including micro- or nano-particles)
Participation in the further development of test strategies and evaluation guidelines as well as in the further development of the methodology for the risk assessment of chemicals at an international level (EU, OECD, WHO)
Participation in advising the federal government and federal authorities on issues of consumer health protection and chemical safety
Representation of the BfR in national and international expert committees
Your profile
Completed university degree (diploma, master's degree or comparable university degree) in medicine, veterinary medicine, biochemistry, toxicology, pharmacy, chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biology or a comparable specialisation
