RESEARCHER PROFILE: Postdoc / R2: PhD holders
RESEARCH FIELD(S) AND DISCIPLINES1: Physical Sciences, Natural Sciences
JOB /OFFER DESCRIPTION:
As a postdoc, you will study and develop advanced nanoscale techniques to realize (nanopatterned) bipolar membranes for water dissociation.
Are you interested in developing new skills at the frontier of science and technology for energy applications? Are you curious to learn how nanotechnology can help to conceive new architecture to efficiency dissociate water in its constituent elements? Are you motivated by challenges from fundamental understanding to device integration? Do you want to work in a dynamic team within an international consortium of research institutes? The SuNE team at the CINAaM laboratory, in Marseille (France) is hiring. Please consider applying to this postdoc position by contacting beniamino.sciacca@univ-amu.fr
The project is funded by ANR-DFG in an international consortium with the Fritz Haber Institute (Max-Planck) Berlin (DE). The goal of the project is to gain fundamental understanding of water dissociation in bipolar membranes junctions, and achieve world record performance, based on preliminary results from the consortium. These experiments will provide unprecedented insights at the nanoscale level of the mechanisms involved in the process, and elucidate the role of the interactions with the physico-chemical environment.
About the group
You will perform this project in the group “Surface Nano structuring for Energy” under the supervision of Dr. Beniamino Sciacca. The team is currently composed by two permanent CNRS researchers and five PhD students, and it is a highly dynamic and international. The team has a strong background in synthetic chemistry, surface functionalization, nanophotonics, nanofabrication, nanoscale photovoltaic devices, and in the characterization of optical, structural, electrical and chemical properties of materials. The hosting environment is equipped with state-of-the art facilities in nanofabrication and material characterization.
