Scientist (m/f/d) for Power Electronics in Electric Energy Systems

Imagine

  • As part of our Electric Energy Systems expert team, you will work on the development of power conversion solutions for the future electric power grid and the integration of renewable energy generation and storage.
  • Together with your highly motivated team of scientists, research engineers and technicians, you will develop novel conversion concepts for PV, electrical vehicle charging, hydrogen in low and medium voltage applications. We offer a state of the art research environment with our modern research and testing laboratory infrastructure, such as the Power Electronics Laboratory.

Engage

  • You will research and design power electronics systems (focus on converters), prototypes manufacturing and conduct tests, and validations.
  • You have the opportunity to work on newest hardware and software design workflows in which artificial intelligence (AI) methods will be applied.
  • You will design, acquire, and lead innovative projects working with other scientific institutions and industrial partners from all over Europe.
  • You will be responsible for defining and writing research proposals within the strategic research focus of the Center for Energy.
  • You publish your innovative results in scientific outcomes and present them at conferences and you will supervise Juniors Scientists and interns.
  • You strengthen your network with international academic and industrial partners in the context of power electronics.

Achieve

  • You will establish new methods for power electronics design by using AI methods as well as outstanding solutions and prototypes for the implementation in the industrial field for a better and faster product design.
  • Your innovative methods and research results will contribute to the success of our current and future projects and at the same time contribute to the development of your individual scientific expertise and international recognition within the research field and research community.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • Master’ degree or preferably PhD in electrical engineering, technical physics and/or in mechanical engineering
  • Very good knowledge and expertise in power electronics
  • Several years of work experience in power electronics design in an academic or industrial context
  • Good knowledge of and affinity to artificial intelligence applications
  • Record in scientific publications and interest in participating to conferences
  • Analytical thinking
  • Very good communication skills in English


What to expect:  
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 53.256,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
