YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with our team of Power Electronic experts you will lead R&D projects in various application areas of power converters. As project manager you will be responsible for: 

  • Contribute to R&D activities for novel test setups in the field of advanced electrical and thermal power semiconductor device and package characterization
  • Align with other scientists and engineers to build prototypes and verify simulation results
  • Contribute to research projects with international research and industrial partners
  • Take on project responsibilities for successful execution of industrial research projects
  • Continuously assessing the progress targeting given timeframe and budget
  • Organization of work, alignment of resources and coordinate the project team as well as external collaborators
  • Reporting internally to and externally to customers and partners
  • Management of multi-firm consortia (typically up to 10 partners) collaborating in research projects both nationally and internationally
  • Keep the overview and manage technical interdependencies of several project responsibilities
  • Support of the project acquisition and thereby being constantly involved in the pushing future research topics
  • Being sparring partner for Junior Scientist and supervise PhD and master students

YOUR PROFILE

  • A PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields
  • A solid technical understanding of electronics and particular power electronics knowledge
  • At least 4 years working experience as researcher within the area of power electronics in one or multiple of the following research areas:
    • Power semiconductor device characterization and modelling.
    • Power electronics simulation and optimization.
    • Power semiconductor device level packaging.
    • Power electronics system integration and high density packaging.
  • Profound knowledge of state of the art electronics design and simulations tools
  • Project Management experience is a prerequisite
  • A proactive mindset with strong moderation skills
  • The ability to analyze and understand complex project situations, making alleviation suggestions
  • Knowledge on European funding landscape and contributions to funded research projects is a strong plus
  • Convincing communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent English skills; German is a plus

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group F (F1 salary = EUR 4.594,- paid 14 times a year) based on 38,5 hours per week). For this position we offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications, starting with a minimum salary of EUR 70.000 (annual, based on an All-in contract and bonus).
