The University of Stavanger (UiS) on the South West Coast of Norway is situated in the most attractive region in the country, with some 300,000 inhabitants. UiS has an innovative and international profile, and is a driving force in knowledge development and in the process of societal change.

Academic life at the University of Stavanger is organised into six faculties, comprising a total of 13 departments/schools and two National Research Centres, as well as the Museum of Archaeology. The university also has a unit for lifelong learning.
