The establishment of an interdisciplinary Doctoral programme at the University of Salzburg is a legitimate and consequent step within the excellence strategy for Geoinformatics and GIScience research in Salzburg. This Doctoral programme has a three-tiered system of
- core faculty serving as principal investigators of the research projects, main supervisors and responsible members of this DK,
- other members of the research groups and
- very specific tier of postdoc/senior postdoc scientists who are actively involved in supervision and training.
