We are now looking for Research Scientists (2) for nanoelectronic device development

With a strong background in semiconductor physics, electronics or process integration. As a researcher at VTT, you will have an essential role in developing and carrying out research on advanced oxide semiconductor nanodevices and ferroelectric memories. You are expected to identify and solve problems independently and creatively, while working closely and flexibly with a team of experts. You focus on the design and fabrication aspects of the novel electrical components. You understand the big picture and over time be able to participate in the concept development.  

Our team develop advanced semiconductor nanocomponents targeting beyond CMOS applications such as in-memory neuromorphic computing, post-CMOS 3D integration and CMOS integrated biodetection. The developments are made in close collaboration with our academic partners along the lines agreed with our industrial partners.  

As a Research Scientist your responsibilities would include:

  • Modeling, designing, characterization and/or process development of ferroelectric components
  • Solving complex nanofabrication challenges
  • Characterization and modeling of DC and RF devices
  • Communicating and solving the problems in tight collaboration with others at VTT

Who we are looking for:

  • You have a MSc or PhD in physics, electronics, or closely similar field.
  • You have experience in semiconductor physics and electronics
  • You have experience in cleanroom fabrication of nanoscale devices
  • Excellent communications skills in English are required.
