The Organic Synthesis Group of Prof. Maulide in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Vienna is currently seeking a PhD student with research experience in asymmetric organic chemistry and synthetic methodology.
Duration of employment: 4 year/s
Extent of Employment: 30.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Studies on the stereoselective preparation of organic compounds, with special emphasis on the development of new synthetic methodologies employing among other methods organometallic asymmetric catalysis and organocatalysis. Participation in publications/academic articles/presentations. We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months. Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement. Supervision of students, Involvement in the organization of meetings, conferences, symposiums. Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration.
A degree in Chemistry with profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of Organic Synthesis. Ability to work independently in the field of organic synthesis.
Experience in Organic Synthesis and in the domain of asymmetric organocatalysis. Documented experience in amide activation.
