The Tübingen Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital are part of the University of Excellence Tübingen. They provide medical services at the highest level and cover the entire spectrum of modern medicine, research, teaching and clinical care.
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a position as a
available immediately. The position will be filled on a salaried basis and is made available for a period of six years according to section 50 subsection 2 sentence 1 no. 5 of the Baden-Württemberg state law covering higher education and specifically the promotion of highly gifted junior researchers.
The successful candidate should strengthen the Faculty, and in particular the research focus on neuroscience by representing the field of neuroendocrinology and further developing it in collaboration with all relevant institutions and researchers. The successful candidate’s research should be concerned with the interaction of sex hormones, the stress axis, neurotransmitter systems, as well as brain development and brain function, preferably through research on animal models and/or in human studies, to perform preclinical studies and lay the foundation for clinical translation on site. The successful candidate will collaborate with other researchers to examine the entire lifespan, focusing on transition phases experienced by both women and men, as well as female-specific hormonal transitions, while also addressing open questions in reproductive neuroscience. Fundamental, preclinical and clinical studies are of interest.
Committed and active participation in teaching in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine is expected. The position has a teaching load of 9 hours per week during the semester. If external funding for this professorship is secured through the faculty, a reduction of the teaching load to 2 hours is possible.
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent degree as well as postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship.
