The Cyber Valley research group “Biomedical Microsystems” (Dr. Tian Qiu) at the University of Stuttgart, Germany is looking for a
One aim of the project is to design, test and model a micro-robotic system, which uses magnetic fields to navigate in complex biological fluids. Another aim of the project is to construct an Augmented Reality (AR) surgical simulator to test the performance of the new biomedical microdevices and also train minimally-invasive surgical skills. A Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Applied Physics is required. An interest or experience in the fields of microsystem engineering, microdevices and microfluidics, soft biomaterials characterization and modeling, AR simulation are preferred. The successful candidate should be self-motivated and possess excellent English skills; and also be open to discuss new ideas and be flexible to apply various experimental methods.
