The Research Unit of Cardiology, Department of Clinical Research, SDU, invites applications for a position as professor with specific responsibilities (WSR) in cardiac nursing (50%) combined with a position as senior nurse in cardiac nursing (50%) to be filled as soon as possible and for a five-year period with possibility of extension.
The Research Unit of Cardiology aims at expanding research, especially multidisciplinary research with researchers with other backgrounds than medical doctors. The aims are to develop further and specifically cover all highly specialized treatments offered within the field of cardiology in order to improve quality of care on an individual patient level.
The professor will be expected to increase the research activity and to expand collaboration with other researchers at Odense University Hospital, at SDU, and abroad.
The professor must participate in further scientific development of the field both nationally and internationally. Also, profiling the field in the public eye will be an important task.
The professor will be expected to mentor post-docs, PhD-students and pre-graduate students and to teach and participate in assessment committees at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The extent of these tasks will be negotiated.

The obligations will be to participate in the clinical duties of the department, especially in the specialized outpatient clinics (atrial fibrillation, heart failure and heart valve disease) on equal terms with the other specialized nurses.
