The Department of Music at the University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate in Music Technology.
You will have a PhD in Music or relevant field, or equivalent professional music industry experience, and an emerging or established career as a composer or music technologist nationally and/or internationally. You will have an advanced understanding of music technology in a variety of creative industry and/or research contexts, and be fluent in audio software. You will have experience teaching and assessing at HE level.
Duties will encompass teaching undergraduate practice-based modules in audio production, digital composition, and recording studio practice. Experience in composing/sound design for media (TV/film, videogames), and/or technology enhanced performance is desirable, as is as is relevant knowledge/experience in teaching media-based coding (such as Pure Data, Max/MSP, Supercollider, Kyma, Unity, etc) and modern programming languages (such as python, javascript, C++, etc)
You will contribute to an exceptional education for undergraduates and postgraduates in music technology and make an exceptional contribution to the Department’s teaching profile and culture. You will be keen to pursue opportunities for impact, public engagement, and interdisciplinarity. You will contribute to the administration of the Department and be keen on championing and promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
