The School of Biosciences and the Division of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Nottingham invite applications for a Teaching Associate in Agricultural Economics and Marketing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, convening and delivering teaching on the School's undergraduate courses in agriculture and in particular the Agricultural Business Management degree programme. Teaching will primarily focus on agricultural economics, and marketing and business management within agricultural industries. The successful candidate will also be responsible for associated administrative and student support duties.
The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s outreach, recruitment and student development activities, including practical on-farm activities.
The Agriculture degree courses are offered at the Sutton Bonington Campus within the School of Biosciences. The University Farm is next to Campus. The Sutton Bonington Campus is also home to the Centre for Dairy Science Innovation, an internationally-leading dairy science research facility. Candidates should, as a minimum, have a Degree, or equivalent, in Agriculture (specialising in business management) / Agricultural Systems / Agricultural Economics or discipline relevant to the agricultural applications of business management or food marketing. Candidates should preferably have a higher degree (i.e. Masters/PhD or equivalent) in the above subject areas as well as previous experience of teaching in the Higher Education sector. Candidates should preferably have experience within the agricultural industry.
The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 12 months. Hours of work are part time (21.75 hours per week).
