Salary: £38592 to £53353 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Sciences (specialist interest in applied pharmacology/ or toxicology/and therapeutics in healthcare practice) for the University of Nottingham Medical School at Derby, based at Royal Derby Hospital.
You will work directly with the course leads for the BSc Medical Physiology and Therapeutics and the MBBS Graduate entry Medicine to deliver a consistently excellent standard of teaching, in biomedical science with a particular focus on applied pharmacology or/ toxicology and therapeutics in healthcare practice. You will convene modules on our undergraduate programmes, supervise undergraduate projects and contribute to assessment processes. You will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning that is underpinned by scholarship related to the discipline.
You may be clinical or non-clinical but must have a PhD and experience in ‘healthcare programme’ education and delivery or equivalent in a related subject area or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience. You will also be required to demonstrate experience of effective negotiating, problem-solving, teamwork and pastoral support.
You will have a high-level analytical capability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation, and creativity.
This role is offered on full-time (36.25 hours), permanent basis. Job shares will be considered.
