Applications are open for up to four PhD studentships at the University of Nottingham, tackling engineering and physical sciences challenges.
These four-year studentships are offered through cohort-based doctoral training programmes. You will study alongside other PhD students and receive tailored training and support. Funding is provided by the EPSRC.
Applications will close when these studentships have been allocated or by Friday 21 August 2020 so you should apply as soon as possible.
Science-informed manufacturing for scientific discovery
Four PhD studentships are available (one per project), starting in October 2020.
This thematic partnership provides an interface between science and making. Our research focuses on the provision of novel materials, processes and device concepts to unlock new understanding of manufacturing.
Available PhD projects:
You should have, or expect to obtain, a 2:1 or above in engineering, physics, chemistry or a related area. Successful applicants will be invited to interview.
Fully funded studentships are available for UK applicants, provided by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
If you are an EU applicant and can confirm that you have been resident in the UK for at least three years before October 2020, you may also be eligible for a full award. EU students who are not able to prove that they meet the residency criteria may apply for a fees only award.
How to apply
Applications will close when these studentships have been allocated or by Friday 21 August 2020 so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
