Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Experience over 8+ years.
  • PhD in a relevant chemistry/ biology/ biomedical scientific or clinical discipline.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills (TOEFL/IELTS score should be provided).
  • Fluent in the English language, superior command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, composition, and stylistics with the ability to write in a clear. concise, and accurate manner, must understand complex scientific information, theories, and practices (Arabic language is an advantage).
  • Understand the standards regarding scientific and technological terms, measurements, time units, should know the standards for abbreviations and exceptional ability to understand and translate scientific content.
  • Proficient in the methods of scientific editing of manuscripts and preserving the confidentiality of the author's/editor's work and reviewing/amending work in response to the author's/editor's feedback.
  • Edits the texts dedicated to scientific and technological problems, including proofreading, correcting mistakes, and verifying the credibility of the facts, data, and calculations presented in the text.
  • Capacity to edit and enhance published data, improving readability while ensuring accuracy and ability to within deadlines, to translate/simplify difficult science articles into accessible language for new product releases and articles.
  • Verify the contents include recent scientific and technological advancements to avoid duplicating or publishing materials that are outdated or possess no scientific importance.
  • Analyze typescript/original work/documents, produced by authors/researchers/students and recommend revisions or changes in grammar approach, scope, format, and dissemination: educate and train authors/researchers/students to improve their writing skills.
  • Professional knowledge of the entire MS Office Suite.
  • Thrives in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of NMSRC.
