Your Role...

Successful candidates will join the young, vibrant, and interdisciplinary FINATRAX Research Group, which builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The group researches the impact of digital technologies like Blockchain (DLT), Digital Identities, Federated Learning, and the Internet-of-Things on both private- and public-sector organizations. Successful candidates will perform the following tasks:

  • Conduct research in areas relevant for FINATRAX’s research agenda
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications 
  • Collaborate and work with stakeholders in the public and private sectors
  • Prepare research proposals for industrial partnerships and national and European grants
  • Manage research projects and deliverables 
  • Mentor and guide the research and career development of PhD and masters students

Your Profile...

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following research areas:
    • Information systems and digital technologies
    • Energy and environmental economics
    • Power systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following quantitative methods:
    • Empirical methods (surveys, experiments, instrumental variables, DiD methods, etc.)
    • Regression (linear, logistic, probit, SEM, etc.)
    • Market modelling (agent-based, equilibrium, systems dynamics, etc.)
  • Experience in publishing high-quality and high-impact research, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed academic publications in top quartile journals (according to Scopus rankings)
  • Ability to supervise academic research and projects with partner organizations
  • Ability to develop research partnerships and prepare grant applications
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating effectively in a team
  • Self-initiative, creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and enthusiasm to work
  • Drive for personal impact in our research group
  • Excellent English-language proficiency in both written and verbal communication. Knowledge of French, German and/or Luxembourgish is not required

The yearly gross salary for every Postdoctoral Researcher at the UL is EUR 77167 (full time)
