The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) is a research centre for the study, analysis and public dissemination of contemporary history of Luxembourg and Europe with a particular focus on digital methods and tools for doing innovative historical research. It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination and societal engagement with history.
Your Role...
The C²DH has three job openings for post-doctoral researchers to work within the framework of an applied research project on the collection building / acquisition policy and provenance research in the collections of works of art and other cultural goods in three Luxembourg institutions: the National Museum of History and Art, the Villa Vauban - Musée d'Art de la Ville and the National Library of Luxembourg. The research project is part of a larger research convention between the C2DH and the Ministry of State on the study of spoliation of Jewish goods during the Second World War. Each post-doc position will focus on one cultural institution and realize his/her research in close collaboration with and support of the institution. The research during this first phase of the project will concentrate on the study of the collection building / acquisition policy at the different institutions during the period 1933-1945 and the realization of a scientific report suggesting further investigations.
