The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.
The faculty’s research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers six Bachelor and twenty Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.
Your Role...
The advertised post is to have a focus in comparative politics and political economy, with a particular emphasis on representation and the evolving political competition centred on public health. The ideal candidate will have an emerging record of research in this area in the European context. Although methodological versatility is desirable, strengths in quantitative methods and public opinion research will be particularly welcome.
Activities
The primary task of the post-doctoral research associate will be to conduct excellent research and produce first class scholarly publications. The overarching project the PDRA will be joining is in its early stages, so the candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the project’s shaping and intellectual evolution. S/he will also be expected to contribute to building the project’s network of international collaborators and expanding its academic and non-academic outreach by organising workshops, presenting at international conferences, and establishing connections with relevant academic and non-governmental organisations. There is also an expectation of contribution to teaching, mentorship, and development of new coursework materials and teaching programs. Finally, the candidate will be expected to work on drafting grant applications for external and internal funding.
