Area: Neurodegeneration; Parkinson’s disease; organoid based in vitro disease modeling

Our lab uses human stem cells for modelling neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson’s disease (PD) in particular. We aim on developing novel, complex in vitro models that are specific for the human brain.

In this particular project, we are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who is interested in using patient specific induced pluripotent stem cells for the generation of cellular models, including human patient specific midbrain organoids and astrocytes. These models will be used to investigate the role of autophagy in cellular senescence in the context of PD.
