We have opening for two theoretical postdoc positions (initially for two years with possible extensions) in the subject of quantum simulation in noisy intermediate scale quantum (NISQ) simulators. The applicants will join the group of Professor Abolfazl Bayat at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu, China. The candidates should be under the age of 35 and have a PhD degree in physics or computer science. People with previous experience on machine learning, matrix product states and optimization algorithms are highly encouraged to apply.
Salaries and benefits
The salary is competitive with European universities and successful applicants will enjoy a reimbursement of up to 10,000 RMB (~ $1500) for international travel or visiting family per year. In addition, the applicants will apply for external grants with which they can secure up to $30,000 extra funding for their research activities.
