The University of Cologne is one of the largest and most research-intensive universities in Germany, offering a wide range of subjects. The department of Scandinavian and Finnish Studies teaches and researches the cultures, literatures and languages of Scandinavia and Finland in the past and present. (https://skanfen.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de/)

YOUR TASKS

  • Teaching obligation of 7 hours weekly per semester
  • Shaping the curricular development of the subject of Finnish Studies
  • Participating in the administration of the department
  • Collaborating in Interscandinavian and comparative research and teaching projects
  • Representing Finnish culture and literature in teaching and research at the department as well as at the faculty

YOUR PROFILE

  • Excellent relevant doctorate and habilitation or habilitation-adequate achievements
  • Several years of university teaching and research experience
  • Ability to work in a team, pedagogical and organisational skills

The position is available at 01.04.2022 on a full-time basis. It is limited to the 31.03.2026. If the necessary prerequisites required by civil service law as well as the sought-after personal qualifications are met, the salary will correspond to the pay grade A14 state civil Service Remuneration Regulation of North Rhine-Westphalia (LBesO A NRW).
