The University of Business and Technology is a private institution of more than (600) undergraduate and graduate students. The University is situated on two campuses. A new beautiful campus will short open on the seaside of the city, in a residential and vibrant district, which is a growing urban area. The College of Advertising is an accredited institutional member of the NCAAA (National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment) and IAA (International Advertising Association). The College programs include undergraduate studies in Core Advertising Courses and Concentration Courses in Communication, Management and Creative Design applied to Advertising. 

The Department of Advertising Communication within the Jeddah College of Advertising (UBT) invites application for a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment at Assistant/Associate ranks of Media and Communication, to begin August/September 2022. 

Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate courses, support and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the University and the profession along with other activities typical for a full-time faculty.

  1. The first position requires the ability to teach undergraduate level among the following courses under Advertising Communication, such as Media Context, Public Relations, Understanding Media, Communication Theories, Crisis Communication, and Media Planning and Buying.
  2. The second position requires the ability to teach undergraduate level of Advertising Communication courses, specifically, along with proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Media Production 
  3. The third position requires the ability to teach undergraduate level of Advertising Communication courses, specifically Copywriting for communication purposes. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus.

The department seeks to hire an active and engaged faculty member who combines professional expertise with excellence in teaching and research. Those with extensive industry experience are encouraged to apply along with those with an active scientific production.


Teaching activities include classroom instruction, directing projects, assisting with student research and internships. Classroom instruction may be undergraduate and/or graduate lecture/seminar courses. All faculty are expected to mentor and advise students on their development, including choices relating to academic program, research projects and career directions. Participate in the development/design and revision of curriculum offered.

Research/Scholarly Work:

Pursue scholarly research and publication, and/or professional practice in the area of teaching emphasis. Scientific production in refereed indexed journals in the related fields is a must.


Participate actively as a member of the university community, on administrative committees, research committees, in university governance activities, and student advising.The successful candidate will be required to provide office hours, serve as an academic adviser for students, contribute to the quality and educational objectives of the program, maintain a strong interest in innovative approaches to teaching strategies, provide community service to the college, foster industry relations and a solid research culture.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

A strong knowledge of the subject area combined with a broad subject background enabling contributions to teaching programs. Experience in diverse advertising issues, such as creative strategy, concept development, brand management execution and presentation, is preferred. Evidence of ability to teach and to supervise academic work. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English.

Working at JCA: the faculty will work in a collaborative environment across the disciplines of Advertising, within a constructive relationships and collaboration with colleagues and with students. 

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Communication, Media Studies, Advertising, or equivalent areas by the date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years academic or industry experience recommended. Five or more years preferred.
