The Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science is looking for a full-time (100%) research manager in the field of 3D imaging for non-destructive testing.

Position

Imec-Visionlab at the University of Antwerp (http://visielab.uantwerpen.be/ ) has an open position for a research manager to strengthen our tomography research team with, for this position, a particular emphasis on setting up and supporting H2020 EU research projects. She/he will take up a leading role in searching for suitable partners for EU projects and will guide the consortium during the proposal writing phase.

The Vision Lab has unique expertise in the development of algorithms for reconstruction, processing and analysis of tomographic imaging data. Application domains are x-ray computed tomography (CT), MRI and electron tomography. The working environment is strongly interdisciplinary, combining techniques and insights from physics, mathematics, engineering, and computer science. The Vision Lab has a broad range of national and international collaborations with both academic and industrial partners. Recent publications on tomography can be found on http://visielab.uantwerpen.be/research/tomography. The position is also in close collaboration with the InViLab group.

Profile

  • You hold a PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics or engineering (or you will have obtained it by the time you start work).
  • You have affinity with the field of computational imaging and/or inverse problems.
  • You have experience in writing research proposals, preferentially on the EU level.
  • Your research qualities are in line with the faculty and university research policies.
  • Your teaching competences are in line with the University of Antwerp’s educational vision.
  • You act with attention to quality, integrity, creativity and cooperation.
  • You can speak and write fluently in English.

What we offer

  • We offer a full-time contract as a postdoctoral researcher for a period of 2 years (yearly evaluation).
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
  • The planned start date is: as soon as possible.
  • You will do most of your work at Campus Drie Eiken in a dynamic and stimulating working environment.
