ABOUT TELECOM SUDPARIS

Telecom SudParis is a public graduate school for engineering, which has been recognized on the highest level in the domain of digital technology. MISSIONS:

  • Participate in the design and implementation of courses in the field of networking and cloud as part of the initial and continuing training provided at Télécom SudParis and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris
  • Conducting research and innovation activities in the field of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations), applied to the management and control of digital assets (physical and virtual digital resources, future networks, deployment and monitoring)
  • Be active in developing industrial or academic collaborations and partnerships in the concerned fields
  • Be an active member of the SAMOVAR laboratory and the NeSS team

ACTIVITIES:

Teaching activities:

  • Teach and organize classes and tutorials in the field of networks, virtualisation and machine learning for networks, for L3/M2 engineering students, and engineers by apprenticeship.
  • Participate in continuing education
  • Participate in the supervision and tutoring of students: student projects, work placements, examinations, etc.
  • Participate in candidate selection interview panels (engineering cycle, specialised masters), to enable the recruitment of new students for these courses

Research activities:

  • Conduct upstream and applied research projects in the field of AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations), applied to the management and control of digital assets (physical and virtual digital resources, future networks, deployment and monitoring), taking into account related properties such as performance assessment and management, system and network resilience, safety and security, and digital frugality. This task involves the steering of industrial or collaborative projects, as well as the supervision of PhD students and platform engineers
  • Contribute to the development of the high-speed experimental platform hosted at Télécom SudParis
  • Maintain a high level of scientific publications compatible with integration in the SAMOVAR laboratory, in the NeSS team
  • Set up and take part in projects involving external partners from the Institut Mines-Télécom, academia or industry, in particular as part of national or European funding

Job requirements

Level of training and / or experience required:

  • PhD
  • CNU qualification is not necessary, but desirable for candidates with a French background

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • At least two years' experience in higher education and research
  • Publication record matching the requirements of the SAMOVAR laboratory
  • Research experience in at least two different research teams, possibly including a Télécom SudParis team, demonstrated through publications
  • International professional experience (PhD, post-doc or long stay) desirable
  • Oral and written command of French and English
  • Involvement in the scientific community (programme committees, organisation of events, etc.) and industry
  • The skills sought will cover some of the following areas:
    • Networks
    • Machine Learning for networks and AIOps
    • Cloud services
