Are you looking to apply your bioinformatic skills to patient single cell data and contribute to science that makes a difference? Then this project is for you!

For a recently funded Transcan-3 EU Program, we are looking for a PhD student (f/m/d) in computational biology. In this role, you will work in a leading center for pediatric oncology. You will have the unique opportunity to analyze single-cell omics data and use cutting-edge computational approaches, with the final goal to develop a diagnostic panel for early discovery of relapse in Neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer.

Your responsibilities

You will:

  • Analyze genomics data (*-seq) and identify clinically relevant biological signals
  • Contribute to a cross-European research program with a clear and important mission
  • Work as part of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary research team and benefit from joint supervision by computational and cancer experts
  • Write manuscripts, present at scientific conferences, and attend courses
  • Apply for PhD fellowships and learn how to obtain funding for your research

Your profile

What you bring for this position:

  • MSc degree (obtained or in final stages) in the areas of bioinformatics, systems biology or cancer genomics (candidates with a degree in computer science will be considered)
  • Experience in NGS data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, BS-seq), experience with single-cell RNA/ATAC-seq is a plus
  • A sound understanding of statistics
  • Solid understanding of molecular, developmental, and cancer biology
  • Proficiency in R and/or python are a requirement
  • Well-organized team player with proactive “getting things done’’ mentality
