Your future responsibilities

As part of the Business Development team, you will be responsible for strategic and operational business development of the division Sensor Systems. This includes discovering and developing new business areas and sales markets, maintaining existing ones, and finding new customers and partners. You will be strongly engaged in improving and promoting the SAL brand name and will represent SAL at national and international events. 
You will work closely with the management, other business developers and researchers of the division and SAL. You will foster inter-divisional cooperations to create added value and a unique selling proposition.   
 
Your future tasks include: 

  • Discovering and developing new business areas and markets
  • Develop and support marketing measures 
  • Developing existing business areas
  • Creating new business opportunities
  • Representing SAL and the division at conventions, conferences, meetings and industry events (with presentations)   
  • Acquiring industrial R&D projects in Austria and Europe
  • Supporting resources and asset planning.
  • Contributing to strategic roadmap development   
  • Contribute to the sales process (quotation, contract, …) 
  • Increase existing and develop new domain knowledge
  • Market research

Your profile

You are passionate about innovation and research and development projects, with a strong experience in business development and background in electronics, electrical engineering, physics or equivalent. Your open and outgoing personality, combined with excellent communication skills, create a highly cooperative spirit.

  • Experience in business development, sales, marketing or related field
  • 5 years experience in the relevant industry (e.g. sensors, electronics, microelectronics)
  • Strong network in the Austrian and international industrial eco-system for Electronics and Software Based Systems
  • Entrepreneurial thinking
  • Education in both engineering and economics
  • Sound technical understanding
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Goal-oriented and independent worker

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group E (E1 salary = EUR 3.962, paid 14 times a year, based on 38,5 hours per week), with potential for overpayment, depending on training and professional experience.
