YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with IC (both layout and circuit) designers to identify end-user requirements and specifications
  • Support building IC design generator-based re-use framework together with APIs needed to enable functionalities necessary in highly automized design flow
  • Designing algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems
  • Producing efficient and elegant code based on requirements
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
  • Compiling and assessing user feedback to improve software performance and introduce improvements to existing software products
  • Developing technical documentation to guide future software and hardware development projects
  • To be mentored (from experienced SAL staff) and be mentor to other (IC design) developers
  • Author and lead successful open-source libraries and projects. Contributions to the open-source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow)

YOUR PROFILE

  • 3+years of experience or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in coding languages including BASH, C, C++, Perl, Python, SKILL, TCL and versioning tool such as Git
  • Willigness to learn new programming languages
  • Willigness to understand and learn some IC design related topics (circuit design, layout design)
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping frameworks
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies
  • A thorough understanding of engineering best practices from appropriate testing paradigms to effective peer code reviews and resilient architecture.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team

  • Start of your employment: as soon as possible
  • This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA) starting in occupational group C. We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your experience and qualifications. For this position, your monthly salary starts with EUR 2.293, paid 14 times a year (for 38,5 h/ week).

Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) is a top research center for Electronic Based Systems (EBS).
