WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.

YOUR MISSION

In Sateliot we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join our team in the Core Network and Services Working Group.

As a Core Network and Services Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of the technical specifications related to the core network and network services in the mobile telecommunications domain. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the interoperability, reliability, and performance of our mobile networks.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with experts from member companies and organizations in the Core Network and Services Working Group to develop and refine technical specifications for the core network and network services.
  • Contribute to the definition of protocols, interfaces, and functionalities of core network elements, such as the MME, S-GW, P-GW, and HSS.
  • Participate in the specification of network interfaces between core network elements and interfaces between the core network and the radio access network.
  • Assist in the development of procedures and protocols for mobility management, session management, and subscriber data management.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in core network and service technologies, standards, and industry trends.
  • Analyze and provide technical insights on the impact of emerging technologies and requirements on the core network and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of core network components with other network elements and services.
  • Conduct testing and validation of core network and service functionalities to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the core network and services during the development and deployment phases.
  • Contribute to the documentation, presentations, and knowledge sharing activities related to the core network and services domain.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of mobile telecommunications networks, with a focus on the core network and network services.
  • Familiarity with 3GPP standards and specifications, especially related to core network architectures and protocols.
  • Proven experience with open-source platforms (e.g., OpenAirInterface OAI, Magma Core, Open5GS, srsLTE, …).
  • Experience in designing, developing, or maintaining core network elements such as MME, S- GW, P-GW, or HSS is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in programming languages (e.g., C++) and scripting languages (e.g., Python) for prototyping and testing.
  • Solid knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including IP, TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP, and Diameter.
  • Experience with network simulation and testing tools for validating core network and service functionalities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies, standards, and project requirements.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
