As a place of top international research, it offers excellent working conditions and career opportunities. Those who study, research or work at RPTU experience a cosmopolitan environment and shape the future.
With the reappointment of the professorship, the department aims to advance key aspects of urban renewal in a future-oriented manner. This professorship focuses on the sustainable development, revitalization, and redevelopment of cities, particularly small and medium-sized cities, as well as villages. In addition to relevant academic qualifications in the field of urban planning / urban development (doctorate required), applicants are expected to have additional academic achievements (e.g. habilitation, publications in relevant journals, experience in acquiring third-party funding). Practical professional experience is desirable. Special didactic skills and experience in teaching are required. Inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation is expected, as is active participation in academic self-administration.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and RPTU advocate a supervision concept in which a high level of teacher presence at the university location is expected. In addition to the general employment requirements, the recruitment requirements set out in Section 49 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act apply.
