The candidate should be a person of international standing who represents the entire field in research and teaching.

The ‘Innovative Building Materials’ professorship focuses on new types of mineral binders and building materials (based on primary and secondary resources) that promote the goals of climate neutrality, circularity of systems and waste reduction and support the associated transformation in the building materials industry. The Chair of Ceramics and the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering are involved in international education and research programmes worldwide, which is why the languages of instruction at the department for students at Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral level are both English and German.

Great importance is attached to the willingness to co-operate with the other chairs of the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering and other chairs of the Cluster of Excellence for Raw Materials at the Montanuniversität Leoben.
