The Green Tech Institute at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Benguerir, Morocco, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team in exploring the intersection of energy transition, circular economy, and sustainable construction production. This position aims to advance innovative solutions that promote sustainability in the built environment, focusing on the effective integration of renewable energy, resource efficiency, and waste reduction. The candidate must hold a PhD in Urban or Rural Development, Civil Engineering or related domain. The candidate is expected to have hands-on experience in field related to urban or rural planning, renewable energy and sustainable construction.

Key duties:

 The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to:

• Conduct cutting-edge research in sustainable construction practices and energy transition.
• Publish in high-impact journals in the field.
• Contribute to teaching or other training activities.
• Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions on research projects.

Criteria for the candidate:

• PhD in the field of Urban or Rural Development and Planning, Civil Engineering or in the related fields. 
• Strong publication record in high impact journals.
• Aptitude for teamwork, problem solving, and collaborative relationships.
• Strong technical background in the following areas: Explore innovative solutions that support the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, with a focus on reducing carbon footprints and improving energy efficiency. Investigate strategies for optimizing resource use, promoting material reuse and recycling, and minimizing waste throughout the production lifecycle. Develop sustainable production methods, including the use of eco-friendly materials and processes that can reduce the environmental and climate change impact.

Employment terms:

The successful candidate will be employed by Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) based at Benguerir (50 km north of Marrakech), Morocco.
