Position Overview:

The School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (SAP+D) at UM6P is seeking an innovative and collaborative Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. The selected candidate will lead pioneering research in Integrated Co-design and Participative Territorial Planning, focusing on engaging communities and stakeholders in the planning process to ensure sustainable and inclusive territorial development. This role is crucial for advancing our goals of creating adaptable and resilient urban and rural spaces through participatory methods.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development:

Develop and implement research projects that integrate co-design and participatory planning methods into territorial development.

Explore innovative participatory tools and methods, such as digital platforms, community workshops, and interactive planning sessions.

Assess the impact of participatory planning on community engagement and territorial outcomes.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with a diverse team of urban planners, sociologists, environmental scientists, and community organizers.

Work with local governments and community groups to apply research findings in real-world settings and improve participatory planning processes.

Publication and Dissemination:

Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences.

Enhance the visibility of SAP+D’s research in participative planning through regular dissemination of results and success stories.

Engagement and Education:

Develop educational materials and tools to train stakeholders in participative planning techniques.

Organize and facilitate workshops and seminars to empower communities and local leaders in the planning process.

Mentor graduate students and contribute to academic courses related to urban planning and community engagement.

Project Management:

Manage research projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and project goals.

Write and submit grant proposals to fund new research initiatives in participative territorial planning.

Supervise the maintenance and enhancement of research infrastructure related to participatory planning technologies.

Qualifications:

PhD in Urban Planning, Community Development, Environmental Policy, or a related field with a strong focus on participatory methods.

Demonstrated experience in conducting research and projects in co-design and participatory planning.

Familiarity with digital tools and methodologies for engaging communities in the planning process.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

Strong record of publications and presentations in related fields.

Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences.

Proficient in both English and French, facilitating broader engagement in multi-lingual settings.
