Position Overview:
The School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (SAP+D) at UM6P is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Researcher to lead cutting-edge research in Building Energy Systems. The successful candidate will focus on the development and application of advanced methodologies for energy analysis, optimization of building energy performance, and integration with sustainable development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Development:
Conduct pioneering research in energy modeling, simulation, and data analytics for building energy systems.
Develop and validate new models for predicting and enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings.
Explore innovative solutions for integrating renewable energy sources into building designs to promote sustainability.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and sustainability experts to create energy-efficient and sustainable building designs.
Partner with industry leaders and academic institutions to advance research in sustainable building technologies.
Engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders to promote the adoption of energy-efficient practices.
Publication and Dissemination:
Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences focused on building energy, sustainability, and technology.
Enhance the visibility of SAP+D’s research capabilities in building energy systems through scholarly and public engagements.
Develop technical reports and policy briefs to influence sustainable building practices.
Engagement and Education:
Lead workshops and seminars to disseminate knowledge on building energy systems and sustainable practices.
Mentor graduate students and contribute to academic courses related to building energy modeling, renewable energy, and sustainable design.
Create educational materials to raise awareness about the importance of energy efficiency in building design among stakeholders.
Project Management:
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure research objectives are met within deadlines.
Write and manage grant proposals to secure funding for research projects in the area of building energy systems.
Supervise the maintenance and upgrading of lab equipment related to energy research.
Qualifications:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related field with a strong focus on building energy systems.
Demonstrated experience in building energy modeling, simulation, and analysis.
Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations in the field of building energy or sustainability.
Proficient in the use of energy simulation software (e.g., EnergyPlus, TRNSYS) and data analysis tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French, capable of effectively conveying complex information to a diverse audience.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment.
