Job Summary:

SAP+D seeks a dynamic and innovative Assistant Professor specializing in Climate Change, Energy Optimization and Urbanization. This role is designed for individual who is committed to advancing research and teaching in the critical interplay between climate change mitigation, sustainable energy solutions, and the optimization of urban environments. The successful candidate will contribute to the school’s academic excellence through rigorous research, high-quality teaching, and active engagement with the global and local communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Development:

Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses related climate change, energy optimization and urbanization. 

Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations that focus on climate change, energy optimization and urbanization. 

Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement, ensuring the integration of cutting-edge research and practices in climate change, energy optimization and urbanization.

Contribute to the development of innovative teaching methods and research approaches that advance the field of climate change, energy optimization and urbanization. 

Research:

Conduct original research in the field of resilient and sustainable materials and construction methods, contributing to the body of knowledge with publications in reputable academic journals and conferences.

Seek and secure funding from external sources to support research projects and initiatives.

Collaborate with industry partners, other academic institutions, and research organizations on projects that advance the field.

Administrative and Academic Service:

Participate in the administration of academic programs related to building science, Resilient and Sustainable Materials and Construction.

Engage in the recruitment and retention of students.

Contribute to the development of proposals for new academic offerings in the area of Resilient and Sustainable Materials and Construction.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in climate change, Urbanization or a closely related field with a focus on climate change, energy optimization, and urbanization.

Proven track record of research in the areas of climate change mitigation, sustainable energy, and urban optimization, as evidenced by publications in high-impact journals and successful grant applications.

Experience in teaching and curriculum development in higher education. Commitment to innovative teaching methods and the ability to engage students in interdisciplinary learning.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in relevant modeling and simulation software, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
