Job Description:

The CBS department at UM6P is seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong expertise and a keen interest in developing functional materials. This includes graphitic based supports, nitride-based materials, and hierarchically structured porous materials for CO2 hydrogenation reactions using photo- or thermal catalysis. The successful candidate will be involved in optimizing the synthesis process, with experience in photo-catalysis. Additionally, knowledge of gas-phase reaction product analysis using micro-GC and FTIR is essential. A solid understanding of general material synthesis is also mandatory.

Candidate Profile:

  • Hold a PhD in catalytic processes or an equivalent in a relevant field
  • Possess relevant experience in CO2 hydrogenation
  • Demonstrate experience in gas-phase product analysis using chromatographic techniques and FTIR
  • Be capable of writing scientific reports
  • Demonstrate aptitude for teamwork
  • Have a good command of English

Main Tasks:

The successful candidate must have the ability to:

  • Design, implement, and validate an experimental photocatalytic measurement setup
  • Perform conversion measurements at laboratory scale
  • Synthesize and develop new catalytic materials
  • Characterize catalysts before and after reaction
  • Write reports and publications

Skills:

  • Mastery of fundamental knowledge in the field of heterogeneous catalysis
  • Mastery of chromatographic and FTIR analytical techniques
  • Mastery of analytical techniques for catalytic materials
  • Mastery of chemical kinetics
