Description of the position:
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to lead a project titled "Solar Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation via Wastewater Valorization".
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow leading the project on "Solar Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation via Wastewater Valorization," your core responsibility will be to innovate in the field of solar energy conversion. You will focus on developing cutting-edge photocatalytic materials capable of efficiently harnessing solar energy for hydrogen fuel production, while also addressing the critical issue of wastewater treatment. This role involves synthesizing these materials using advanced techniques such as sol-gel processing, hydrothermal synthesis, and chemical vapor deposition. You will characterize the developed materials using methods like BET surface area analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, and various spectroscopic techniques.
Your duties will extend to designing and overseeing experiments aimed at assessing the photocatalysts' effectiveness in solar-powered hydrogen generation and pollutant degradation. A significant aspect of this position involves not only the technical development of materials and processes but also the scaling up of these technologies for real-world application. As such, you will work towards the optimization of these processes, aiming for a balanced focus on efficiency, cost, and practical applicability. The role demands a collaborative approach to research, requiring frequent interaction with other scientists, engineers, and partners, both within and outside the institution. Moreover, you will contribute to the academic environment by mentoring students, publishing research findings in respected journals, and actively participating in relevant scientific communities.
