About Entity (Hiring entity):

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral fellow to join us with specialty in photovoltaics and the investigation of photoluminescence in quantum dots for downconversion mechanism. Candidates should have demonstrated experience and hands-on expertise in chemical synthesis, functionalization, characterization, thin-film processing of colloidal quantum dots and integration into optoelectronic devices. Some expertise in infrared and near infrared photodetection, photovoltaics or light emission would be valuable. The candidate should also have strong knowledge on the physics of light emission in nanomaterials and firsthand expertise in setting up optical experiments. Expertise on the design and implementation of set-ups for photoluminescence measurements will also be considered. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the field of quantum dots, with a particular emphasis on their photoluminescent properties and device fabrication. The applicant must have strong English communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present the data clearly.

Description of the position:

  • To perform experimental work for the development of quantum dot based downconversion layer and to study the photoluminescence of quantum dots under various conditions.
    • The integration of downconversion layer with photovoltaic devices for enhancement in the efficiency of the solar cell.
    • Optimize experimental conditions for the improvement in the photoluminescence measurements.
    • The synthesis of homogeneous quantum dots for improvement in resonance phenomena for downconversion.
    • Investigate novel materials and methods to enhance the photoluminescent properties of quantum dots for down conversion phenomena.
    • To develop new applications of quantum dots.
    • Write technical reports, research papers, and grant proposals.
    • Present research findings at internal meetings, national and international conferences.

Education

PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, or a related field with a focus on synthesis of quantum dots and its photoluminescence investigations for downconversion/upconversion phenomena.

Requirement

  • Experience in operating CVD, sol-gel, spin coating, Thermal evaporating machine, and hydrothermal reactor for the synthesis of quantum dots.
