Missions :

The candidate will contribute to the missions and research projects in computational physics within the Institute of Applied Physics (IAP), and he will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in physics.

The IAP invests in hiring future leaders in lab-on-a-chip, Space Technology, advanced materials, quantum and photonics devices, and Terahertz Technology. With this posting, the IAP at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks new faculty specializing in 2D / quantum devices accelerated discovery through computational methods.

The interest areas are (but are not limited ): to novel electronic structure and methods, light-matter interactions modeling, topological phenomena, magnetism, superconductivity, quantum information science, spintronics, magnonics, phononics, and Terahertz photonics devices modeling.

Research on computational physics of 2D materials, transition metal oxides, ultrafast Terahertz spectroscopy, Terahertz photonics, advanced synthesis, charge transport, and quantum device design and modeling will be an asset.

The successful candidates teach undergraduate and graduate physics courses. He/she supervises graduate students. He/she develops and directs a substantial funded research program; participates in the IAP and university faculty services; demonstrates dedication to diversity, and contributes to the UM6P University's development.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics or close field and a least two years of post-doctoral research in a prestigious institution are required. He/she must have a proven track record of innovation and high-impact research. He/she is expected to build an original, well-funded research program with an international profile.

Starting date: Septembre 1, 2023
