The candidate (m/f/d) is expected to contribute to teaching and applied research activities in the associated areas. A degree in computer science or a related field of study is a prerequisite for the position. Experience in the programming of complex software applications is required and should be incorporated into practical teaching content.
In the context of the University’s academic study programmes, the teaching duties involved in the post will focus on the following areas:
The candidate will be required to contribute to teaching on both classroom-based and extra-occupational study programmes. Involvement in research and professional development is also expected. It is essential that teaching staff cooperate across disciplines, work constructively with different teams within the University, and support the University’s strategic objectives. In view of the increasingly international nature of the programmes offered, the post-holder will also need to be able and willing to deliver some elements of teaching in English.
Efforts are being made to ensure that the professorship becomes a permanent position.
The role is governed by the requirements and conditions of employment set down in Section 35 of the State of Saxony-Anhalt’s Higher Education Act (“HSG LSA”). The candidate must be prepared to contribute to research, extra-occupational study programmes (several weekends per semester) and professional development courses and to respond to requirements from other departments.
The candidate is also expected to be actively involved in the work of university administration committees.
The successful candidate will be remunerated on the basis of the applicable statutory and budgetary guidelines. In addition to the basic salary, bonuses may be paid to reward above-average performance.
