The position’s departmental placement is to be decided on appointment.

The role is combined with employment as specialist/consultant within Region Skåne.

Duties

Work duties include research, research education and teaching on the Faculty’s degree in medicine in neurology, cognitive disorders or psychiatry. Other duties normally associated with the position of professor include administrative tasks and internal and external elected offices nationally and internationally. The successful applicant is expected to assume overall responsibility for research and teaching in the subject area.

Independent clinical work is included in the position of specialist/consultant.

Qualification requirements

A person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise shall be qualified for employment as a professor (Higher Education Ordinance, Chapter 4 Section 3).

The applicant is to be a specialist in the specialisms relevant to the vacancy announcement. 

Since the appointment is combined with appointment as a specialist/consultant,

Swedish language skills of at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s Framework of Reference for Languages are a requirement.

According to Lund University’s Appointment Rules, the applicant must have completed training in teaching and learning in higher education of at least five weeks or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way in order to be eligible, unless there are special grounds. If the holder of the position is deemed to have special grounds for not having completed training in teaching and learning in higher education of at least five weeks at the time of taking up the position, they shall complete such training within two years of starting the position.

Assessment criteria

The applicant is to have demonstrated academic and very high level of research and teaching skills relevant to neurology, cognitive disorders or psychiatry. During the assessment, particular weight will be accorded to academic expertise.

The applicant must have demonstrated academic skill by maintaining a very good national and international standing as a researcher.

Experience of national and in particular international research collaboration is desirable.

Furthermore, it is desirable that the successful candidate has, as the principal applicant, received external research funding national and especially international competition.

Experience of experimental, translational and clinical research within neurology, cognitive disorders or psychiatry is desirable.

Documented clinical expertise and experience of leading clinical work within neurology, cognitive disorders or psychiatry are desirable.

The applicant is to have demonstrated teaching expertise of relevance to the subject within both teaching and supervision in first, second and third-cycle education.

The applicant is to demonstrate leadership ability, the ability to interact with wider society and a good capacity for collaboration.

Teaching staff at Lund University are required to be suitable for the position and to have the general ability to fulfil their work duties well.
