The candidate will conduct research on the ultimate performances of strontium optical lattice clocks, especially in terms of
- stability: implementation of a non-destructive detection method in order to reduce the frequency noise of the clock, and to overcome the quantum projection noise.
The research activities focus on the development of high precision optical lattice clocks at the SYRTE laboratory. The candidate will be a post-doc, and will lead an experimental project on the optical clocks, in the domain of fundamental research and metrology
The candidate will work in the "optical frequency metrology" team at SYRTE, Paris Observatory (75014). She/he will be in contact with the members of the team (about 20 people), and will work daily on the development of optical lattice clocks in a team of 3 persons (1 group leader, 1 PhD, 1 post-doc)
The candidate must have skills in experimental physics (optics, electronics, programming), and be familiar with atom laser cooling, data analysis, high resolution spectroscopy, laser stabilization on cavities, phase lock loops.
